WOW! So much has happened since I built my house 15 years ago along the Polaris corridor. We went from a two lane road, corn fields and two neighborhoods to booming area of a desired location to live and send children to school.
When I first built my home I didn’t even have children yet but lots of my neighbors had kids who were school age. Shortly after I moved into my new home there was a School Levy on the ballot for Olentangy Local Schools. SO MANY OPINIONS! Many residents believed that if you did not have children in the district that it should be a NO vote. I did not feel this way at all! One day I would have children in Olentangy Schools and I wanted existing students to continue to have spectacular schools as the up and coming area boomed. Olentangy Schools got a YES vote from me.
The area has since become congested which has lead to overcrowding of the school buildings, redistricting of the school line boundaries and the addition of many more school buildings. This is frustrating for many people but Olentangy has continued to have great support in passing their school levies which allows the students and the community to thrive.
I have continued to VOTE YES for OLENTANGY ever since. I now have two children in the system and have enjoyed submerging myself in volunteering in the schools and getting to know so many other children and their families. I feel so proud of the great community we have and we would not have it with out a stellar school system.
VOTE YES for OLENTANGY!
