Girls Night Out at The Guild House Columbus! Cameron Mitchell’s was kind enough to work with SMAC again and host our Girls Night Out/Book Club to an appetizers tasting. In total Mom Style we loaded up in a huge SUV and burned rubber out of the suburbs to Discover Downtown Columbus and rolled up to the valet like rock stars.
I walked into The Guild House and it has the best interior I have ever laid eyes on. This has to be the best venue Cameron Mitchell’s has introduced yet! Perfect lighting with a beautiful glow from the chandeliers and a warm feeling from the use of the natural wood. Huge picture windows lined the front and provided a downtown buzz and natural light.
We were greeted by our server, Ben and well lets say he was quite the character! Ben had our martinis and wine out in no time and was explaining all of our appetizers. We tasted a variety of foods including; tuna ribbons, prime rib cap, smoked trout, stuffed poblano, pork cheeks and a cheese plate. My absolute favorite was the Smoked Trout. The Smoked trout was served in a glass jar with guacamole on a platter with crostini. I do want to mention a second favorite which was the pork cheeks. The pork cheeks tasted like my Gramma was back in the kitchen!
After a delicious appetizer course we ordered dinner. I had the ricotta gnocchi. I love gnocchi and like to do my fair share of comparing them to my own recipe and to local restaurants in Columbus. The Guild House has hands down the creamiest gnocchi in town. Think they will let me work in the kitchen for a day and learn the secret recipe?
DESSERTS! Who has a Girls Night Out and does not indulge in dessert! HA! My friends know how to have a good time! First up, Chocolate Martinis! Yum. I know I can count on my friend Amber to have brilliant ideas! The trifle was picture perfect complete with a gingerbread cookie garnish. I picked the donut for myself. It was absolutely darling in presentation and I shared with my friends although I really wanted it all to myself.
The Guild House Columbus is the absolutely the best experience I have had in downtown dining! Cameron Mitchell’s continues to be #1 in Columbus in my book!
Full Disclosure: The Guild House and Cameron Mitchell’s provided an appetizer tasting in exchange for a review. As always, all opinions are our own!
