My friend Heather asked me if I wanted to do the first ever “Uptown Chocolate Walk” in Westerville. Since we both have Fitbit’s (tracking our steps!) and I always say “I’m going to visit one of these shops one day..” I thought this is an opportunity for me to do both!
We bought tickets online ($16 each and it was a sold out event) and then we had to check in at Jimmy V’s Pub and Grill where we were issued our “passport” and bag to carry our chocolates (or eat them!) In order to participate in the raffle at the end, you had to get 20 stamps from the various shops in Uptown Westerville. So off Heather and I went! At every shop we visited , we got a stamp on our passport and a piece of chocolate at every store. Heather and I saved some chocolates in our bag and we ate a few along the way! At some places, they offered is chocolate drinks: chocolate shot (Koble Grill) Chocolate Martini (State 8 Bistro) and chocolate wine (Meza Wine Shop)! The best chocolate we sampled was from the A Gal named Cinda Lou where they had tiny little samples of Brazilian chocolate and I tasted the Creme Brûlée! It was the bomb! They sell the box of Brazilian chocolates in their store too! (A 70’s vibe store with very fun cool stuff!)
Heather also told me she likes to shop at Naturally Curious Kids toy store for unique and educational gifts. I also liked Pure Roots Boutique because they sold a lot of “Ohio” themed items: glasses, t-shirts etc. We also got to sample some chocolate tea at Blue Turtle Tea and Spice Company.
After we got our 20 stamps, we headed back to Jimmy V’s to turn in our passport booklets. After we wrote our names on the booklets, we turned them in for a raffle. While we were awaiting for others return to Jimmy V’s, were ate appetizers while we waited to see if we won any prizes from the local merchants. Sadly, Heather and I didn’t win but we did go to Koble Grill to eat some calamari, hummus and some drinks! (It was Lent Friday!)
All in all a great time!
