Glorious fall day at Stratford Ecological Center! I was lucky enough to take a day off from work to attend my son’s field trip. Stratford is nestled in Delaware, OH on Liberty Rd. The nature preserve is 236 acres. The property is open to public year round except Sunday’s and holidays. The students were broken up into groups and each group had a tour guide. We checked out the greenhouse, bee hives, chicken coop and then hiked further out to a few educational stations on the property. The students learned about energy with plants and animals. We then hiked out to one of the farthest points for lunch at a cemetery that had veterans of the War of 1812. After lunch we hiked to a wooded area and did an activity called Magic Spot. You were to walk away from the group in silence and find a spot to sit in your own thoughts and be still and take in nature and clear your minds. While in my magic spot I took these beautiful photos of the trees surrounding me.
