I have been to Skyzone or other kids’ birthday parties and for open jump but it was time to have a party for my littlest one! She was turning 8 and I thought that this would be a fun place to have a winter birthday (or anytime!) party since the kids are cooped up during the winter months! You can contact Skyzone via phone or fill out the online form to set up your party. Also, you can opt for a weeknight or weekend birthday party. (Weekday party is $2 cheaper per kid than the weekend party) Skyzone charges per person with a minimum of 10 kids. (including the birthday child) Charge per child includes jump, jump socks, pizza and soft drinks. You can also bring your own cake but all other outside food is prohibited. There are many add-ons that you purchase too: glow cups, party favors, etc. (I brought my own party favors) Your total party time is 2 hours which includes 1/2 hour for guests to arrive before you jump, 1 hour of jump, and 1/2 hour of eating time/opening gifts. TIP: we had a weeknight party and it was like we had the whole place to ourselves!
Once you arrive and everyone is checked in to your party, you are assigned a party hostess. The party hostess will guide the party and you can literally sit back and let them take over! During check in, you have a cart assigned to your party group which will hold the shoes, coats and gifts for your party group. Once everyone arrives, the cart is then rolled into your assigned party room. The kids have their assigned time stickers on their shirts and orange jump socks. Then, the party host then tells the kids that it is time to “dress up the birthday party girl.” They are given hats, boas, necklaces to dress up the party child. Next is the group picture and a separate picture with the dressed up party child.
After that, the Skyzone leaders of the trampoline area, let the kids know the rules for jumping (only one square per jumper). For the dodgeball area, there are assigned times by ages and for the Foam Zone there you can only jump when instructed by the Skyzone leaders into the foam pit. Once the rules were established, the kids took off! What is great about Skyzone that it is fun for all ages (yep, my older two kids had a great time too!) The kids were running from one location to another, gathering their friends laughing together to jump and having a good time. (Don’t worry, there is a drinking fountain too!) An hour goes by pretty quickly and then it is time for the pizza and cake!
The party leader then gathers the group to come into the party room and puts hand sanitizer on their hands upon entry. The kids are then asked what kind of pizza/drinks they want (pepperoni or cheese). Next, the 2 party leaders dole out the pizzas/drinks to the kids and adults. I did like the fact that they offered Jet’s Pizza rather than some frozen pizza that some birthday party places offer to the kids. The party leaders also played music of the their choice on the speakers. (They opted for Taylor Swift!)
Finally, after the pizza, it was time to cut the cake and open presents! The party leader will also write a list of the names of the people who the presents/gifts. At the end of the party, you gifts are loaded back to the cart and you can take the cart to the front door and unload them into the van. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and would recommend a birthday party at Skyzone!
Full Disclosure: Skyzone provided a birthday party discount in exchange for a blog post-as always, opinions are our own!
