Harold’s American Grille was the first stop in our newly created dinner club, “Eat, Drink, Yap”. Harold’s easily accommodated a reservation for a party of 10 which was a bonus! Harold’s is located in the downtown section of Olde Worthington and there was ample public parking behind the restaurant. Something I did not consider was it was also Restaurant Week in Columbus. Harold’s was packed with lots of eager diners who enjoy restaurant week specials. We had to wait about 30 minutes past our reservation time before we were seated. Menu looked like it had an overall good variety to please everyone and the specialty menu for restaurant week was on point. I decided to go for it and order the 3 course special being featured. First up was the Roma Tomatoes stuffed with goat cheese and sprinkled with toasted pistachios. This was absolutely amazing and I think I could make it at home! Next was Stuffed Pork with a balsamic drizzle. The presentation was lacking and the pork was a little dry. I also wished it had some sort of greens along side. The dessert I chose was bread pudding. This is something I like but do not make at home so it is always a treat to see it on a menu. Bread Pudding a la mode was a delicious. Overall our club thought the food and drinks were good at Harold’s but we all agreed that the service was very slow and the noise volume was off the charts. To be fair, I would like to go back to Harold’s when it’s not restaurant week and see what the atmosphere is like!
