After our visit to the Cincinnati Museum Center, we then headed to Newport Aquarium. Valerie has been to the Newport Aquarium before and said it was a great place to visit! There is ample parking and many places to shop/eat right next to the aquarium.
Upon entry, you immediately drawn to the wonderful bright displays of brightly colored fish. As you are walking though the various areas, you notice the kind of fish that are in the tanks are clearly listed below. Each description of the fish includes: diet, habitat and did you know? facts! I really liked these 3 bullet points because it was easy to absorb the information at a glance.
We explored the entire aquarium but my favorite spots were the Jellyfish Gallery, Gator Alley and Shark Central. I liked the jellyfish because they were so beautiful to look at and Gator Alley because Mighty Mike looked so fake because he hardly moved! Shark central was another fun spot because there were so many different kinds of sharks! You could also touch them but but my girls wouldn’t touch them!
I also really loved the underground tunnels and looking at the various fish above your head! The grand finale was walking across the Shark Bridge and seeing the sharks down below!
This aquarium is fantastic and I would encourage you to take your family here soon!
Full Disclosure: Social Moms Around Columbus was given tickets to the Newport Aquarium from CincinnatiUSA.com in exchange for a blog post-as always opinions are our own!
