Uptown Westerville does it again with yet another trendy spot, Asterisk Supper Club. The supper club is a library theme with an old fashioned slow down the times feel. Bookshelves line the walls and gorgeous chandeliers dazzle over the long wooden tables. When you visit give yourself a moment to appreciate all that went into designing this themed dining experience. Our server brought us a menu which was inside an old book. The menu was simple yet creative with flavor combinations.
Since this was a Girls Night Out we started with ordering some featured cocktails. I ordered the Greyhound and my friend ordered the Her Ball and Chain. The Greyhound was spot on as an old fashioned drink and the Her Ball and Chain was fruity and ice cold. The Her Ball in Chain can also be purchased by the punch bowl size to share!
We shared the Cauliflower appetizer which was fried to perfection and served on top of a bed of tomato sauce. Simple and delicious. Ordering my meal proved to be difficult! My friend and I were both eyeing the Papi’s Burrito but I kept reading the description for the Chicken and Waffles. I just had to order the Chicken and Waffles because I had to find out myself what a Jalapeno Waffle tasted like. Our food came out and I poured the honey butter syrup over the whole thing and cut myself a big bite. Oh the flavors tingling my taste buds! Crisp moist salty chicken, sweet rich honey butter and the soft spicy jalapeno waffle all doing their thing. Absolutely genius. I almost forgot to say that I did taste a bite of the Papi’s burrito and it had great flavors but the Chicken and Jalapeno Waffle was the star!!
